Preparing For Your Breast Augmentation

Nowadays, breast augmentations may seem like a regular occurrence, but you shouldn't forget that they're still medical procedures. This means that if you want to avoid any unpleasant side-effects, you'll need to prepare yourself. Here are a few tips to ensure that your breast implant surgery will be a hassle-free experience:

  • Get Tested. Since the surgery will be done on your breasts, a lot of doctors recommend getting a mammogram. Most of the time, surgeons request this test if you're over 40, but even if you haven't hit that milestone, a mammogram never hurts. It's quick and easy, and you can probably find the results useful in the future.
  • Physical Preparations. You'll need to prepare your body for the surgery. This means if you're a smoker, you'll need to give it up for some time, as well as maintaining a healthy diet and observing alcohol avoidance for a few days before the operation. Also, don't eat or drink anything after midnight on the eve of the procedure.

  • Personal Arrangements. Have someone be there to drive you to and from the hospital. Additionally, you'll need to make arrangements for your children, if you have any, and your work. Also, get your medication ready before the surgery; that way, your recovery won't have any delays and you won't have to waste time visiting the pharmacy after the surgery.
